Every year, in celebration of National Green Amendment Day – July 13 – we offer special educational forums on the power of constitutional Green Amendments, and try to build in some fun. What do we have planned for this year?
On Sunday, July 13, Green Amendment Day, we will…
- Read the Green Amendment Community Poem we are inviting you to help build – just write a poetic verse and submit it, and you will be part of our poem.
- Open our Green Amendment Online Art Gallery – a sharing of art inspired by Green Amendments and Nature. Send us your drawing, photo, song, poem, or picture of your sculpture or other art to include in the gallery.
- Opening our special Green Amendments Day Store including a few, one of a kind (few of a kind) items that will be sold on a first come-first served basis, including a signed poster from the RailRoad Earth Band, embroidered Gnome sweatshirts & totes, pottery by Eileen Stilwell, and more.
On Tuesday July 15, we will present our educational forum, a special interview with national expert on State Constitutions, Law Professor Robert F. Williams.

New Poll Could Be a Powerful Tool in Advocating for Green Amendments in Many Western States.
A new poll makes clear that environmental protection is not a party-line issue and that there is wide-ranging, all-partisan support for protecting the natural environmental spaces that enrich our lives.

Green Amendment protections that recognize a healthy environment as an enforceable right are a key tool we can all use to protect our special natural spaces. A number of the states that were part of the poll are also part of our Green Amendment movement, including New Mexico, Colorado and Arizona. Also included in the poll is Montana, where a Green Amendment already exists.
This poll is a great demonstration that protecting our environment is a priority for most people – a sentiment that naturally translates into support for Green Amendment protections.
Pennsylvania’s Green Amendment is being used to advocate for needed protections.
Pennsylvania legislators are at it again – trying to pass a piece of legislation that is clearly intended to advance dirty energy by stripping local governments of their authority, including their constitutional authority.
